I create one-of-a-kind handmade signs and prints. My esthetic is vintage and rustic. I am a vendor at Signature Finishes and
I also do custom work.
I was a contributor of a women's lifestyle blog, AnEverydayOccasion.com, from 2013 to 2014. For one of my submissions, I chose to write a tutorial showing how to make a rustic wood sign. I loved the sign my sister-in-law's kitchen and I thought, I can do that. I loved the results and got great feedback.
I hadn't actually worked in a graphic design position since receiving my certificate in 2008 due to a growing family. However, I would create our Christmas card each year and the occasional invitation for friends' parties. It was what I loved to do.
Soon after making that sign, I decided to contact a few area shop owners to inquire about selling at their store. Maureen Bane of Signature Finishes in North Grafton gave me a chance. I have a vendor space, a bookcase, at the shop and I love what I do. I also take custom orders. It's great to create something for a customer and have them love the finished product.
